My addictions run long and deep.  I have a true affinity for many an item, most of which have no real purpose to me except making me smile.  Addictions can be very dangerous things, I could easily see myself becoming a hoarder.  You know, like the ones you see on the t.v. show?  I mean how many blender bottles do I need?  Yet I cannot pass one up at the thrift store.  It beckons me like a fish to a shiney object.  I become fixated on obtaining it.  Only once it is nestled safely in my shopping cart can I exhale.  OK, that may be a bit dramatic, but for reals, I LOVE aquiring those items which bring me such pleasure.

Just some of the MANY items I can't get enough of:  Blender Bottles, Cake Stands, Mercury Glass, Candlesticks, Glass Jars (in any shape or size), Tote Bags, Decorative Iron Pieces, Silver Bowls and Platters, Pitchers, Vintage Signs, Advertizing Pieces, Anything that I can turn into a Lamp, and it goes on and on and on.

I believe more than the addiction to the items, is the thrill of the hunt.  How can you not love a good Yard sale, Church Bazzar, Thrift Shop, Consignment Shop, you know those places where the goods can be had for a REAL CHEAP price.  Lest we not forget EBay, Craigs List, and Etsy, where you can find awesome stuff while sipping your latte in your jammies.

Ah, yes, there is much to love and collect.  Each aquired piece is another memory to add to the charm and character of your home.  Ones home should be a collection of items that you adore and have a story.  Not a room that you bought out of a cataloge in one day.  Making a home is an evolution which is never really has an end.  And that is what makes it so wonderful!

What items do you have an obsession for?

Hi Cheryl, I can understand where you are coming from. At the moment I am obsessed with painting everything cream. Anytime I do a craft, it has to be frames in cream. I wonder how long it will be before I get bored with that? Hopefully not for a long time. I love the way my apartment looks now. Thanks for sharing your views. I have recently found your blog and am now following you, and will visit often. Please stop by my blog and perhaps you would like to follow me also. Have a wonderful day. Hugs, Chris
