Pallet Christmas Mantle

So, I came across a great little blog Growing Up Gardner, and she had the greatest little Christmas Sign made from a repurposed pallet.  I was inspired to do the same so I gave it a shot!  It was super easy, cost pretty much no moolah and has a huge impact!  What else can you ask for, am I right?

What is so great about this is there is literally a gazeeelion holiday inspired quotes/verses etc that you could use for this.  I am planning on making a few more for other seasons.

All you need are scraps of pallet wood, craft paint, paint brush, hammer and nails.  Oh and a steady hand!

Decide how large you want your sign.  I made mine the full length of a regular pallet so that I did not have to cut any pieces.  I made it 7 slats high.  This makes for a grand piece on the mantle.  Using extra pieces of pallet, nail the slats to the scraps to hold it all in place.

Next is to decide what you want your sign to say, and then paint it on.  I did mine free hand.  I wish I did not have to, but I did not have an overhead projector at the time.  (but I did just get one off EBAY for 20bucks!!!)  If you had an overhead projector, you could do some really intricate design/lettering.  Or maybe you are just that good to do it freehand, me not so much so you can tell, eh.

Enough of the blabbering, what do you think?

Looks great! I love all of these pallet projects that are floating around lately. I'm just afraid my husband would look at me like I had 3 heads if I said I wanted to hang some wood pallets on the wall. ;)

Stopped by from the blog hop and am now following your lovely blog!

It looks so nice and attractive. It seems like to be a different idea and the silver glitter makes the decoration look more beautiful.

I was on your page yesterday and didn't leave a comment. I'm glad you posted on my Facebook status.

We actually sell pallets for a living so I love seeing pallet crafts like this in blog posts. My husband has many pallet signs for me. :)

This time Christmas theme is "Silver". Nice choice of theme and who cares about the cost when it comes to especially special occasions.
